Heading out with a camera has always held the mystery and magic of unknown outcomes. I never know what I will find, what will present itself to record. I take great pleasure in form, pattern and colour; symmetry, geometry and vibrancy.
From my days at Croydon Art College in the 90s when I earned a distinction and was awarded free rein of the darkroom, to exhibitions including the St Bride Foundation in London, being out and about with my camera and seeing my images unfold is one of my favourite things.
I used to use a 100% manual wind on SLR camera. Or a battery operated camera with film. At some point I got a digital camera which was amazing. I used to think how brilliant it would be to have a digital camera so small it would fit in my pocket and I could take it everywhere. Then the iPhone happened. I have a DSLR too.
I moved from Croydon to the East Yorkshire Coast some years ago to raise my children in my husband's home town. During the pandemic I began sharing my beach photos with my friends at Psychologies magazine for whom I was an ambassador at the time. This website has grown from that.
